Crouse-Hinds series GUA and GUR explosionproof conduit outlet boxes are installed in conduit systems in hazardous areas to protect conductors in threaded rigid conduit, act as pull and splice boxes, change conduit direction and provide access to conductors for maintenance and future system changes. GUA and GUR outlet boxes are certified for Class I, Division 1, Groups B, C, D and Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F, G. GUA boxes are available in ten different hub arrangements, maximizing flexibility in the conduit system. They are available in Feraloy iron alloy (1/2 to 2 in), copper-free aluminum (1/2 to 2 in) or stainless steel (3/4 and 1 in) construction. GUR boxes feature a compact, universal design for confined spaces with five standard hubs and three pipe plugs included.

• To provide a seal in hazardous areas
• To mount pendant lighting fixtures such as EVA listed in lighting section (fixture canopy)
• To mount EVA pendant lighting fixtures on cover which is then screwed into outlet box without twisting conductors (union hub cover)
• Surface covers are supplied with GUA boxes
• Fixture canopy has a threaded cover in its side to provide access for making splices or taps
• Fixture with its conduit stem and canopy can be assembled and wired before installation and conductors can be spliced in canopy after it has been screwed into the body
• Cover threads are 12 pitch
